Gina is an experiences orchestral player having received coaching from some of the country’s leading orchestral harpists such as: Katherine Thomas (Principal harpist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra), Bryn Lewis (Principal harpist with the London Symphony Orchestra), Rita Schindler (Birmingham Royal Ballet), Ruth Faber (Glyndebourne Symphony) and Sioned Williams (Former principal harpist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra). She has also had the pleasure of working with notable conductors including but not exclusive to: Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Barry Wordsworth and Michael Seal. Gina played first harp for the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Opening Gala which was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 as well as playing for John Rutter’s Requiem which was also broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and conducted by John Rutter himself.
Gina has covered a wide range of repertoire so far in her orchestral career from Ravel, Holst and Mahler to live performances with films such as The Snowman and Paddington. Her musical training has educated her in some of the most challenging harp parts/solos the orchestral repertoire has to offer and in her first year of university was awarded first prize in the Orchestral Excerpts and Etudes competition; so you can rest assured that your harp section is safe in her hands.
In 2019 Gina was lucky enough to take part in the Solihull Rising Stars initiative performing her debut concerto with the Debussy Danses.
